Aonach Paddy O Brien Traditional Music Festival
Tourist Office, Connolly Street, Nenagh, North Tipperary
Celebration of the life and music of Paddy O’Brien. Programme includes workshops in music, dancing, art and drama, concerts, sporting events, singing and music sessions. Paddy O'Brien was a native of Newtown.

Glen of Aherlow Walking Festival 2008

This two day annual festival is an ideal opportunity to explore the Glen of Aherlow and many of the lakes, mountains, rivers, and forestry that form the unspoilt scenery of South Tipperary. There are walks of varying grades so you can either get stuck in with the strenuous climbs or take it easy and work your way up with a few gentler strolls. There are even some non-walking activities being held for those travelling with walkers but do no wish to go walking themselves....

This event has competition for all the farm yard animals including, horses, cattle, sheep poultry, and there will also be some other disciplines such as flowers, baking and photography. The dog show, carriage driving and horse jumping competitions are particular favourites. The competitions can be entered on the day so no need to book ahead. Other attractions include the dog agility competition, donkey derby, the tug-o-war, and the most suitably dressed lady event....
