Loughanalbanagh
Monaghan, Monaghan
This is a small mountain lough situated on a high windswept moorland to the east of Slieve Beagh and near the Tyrone--Monaghan border. It is a long way from the nearest road and at least a good 2-mile walk, which will probably take as many hours. It is wise to tell some one where you are going and when to expect you back. Loughanalbanagh holds a small stock of good brown trout, with some possibly to 4lb. It fishes best with a good breeze and there can be good sport too on a summer evening with s...

Clones Golf Club
Hilton Park, Clones, Monaghan
Clones is now an 18 hole course and was offically opened by Barry McGuigan in August 2002. It's an 18 hole course and Dr. Arthur Spring has done magnificent job for us in carving out a new nine and varied holes from a challenging terrain.

Clones is unique for an inland course in that it is built on the limestone belt and as such is in play all year round. We have a relatively small membership so societies can be catered for every day except Sundays which are devoted exclusively to the...

Lough More
Creeslough, Donegal
This is a small lough beside Creeslough village. It used to hold an excellent stock of brown trout averaging 10 oz, with fish to 2km, but stocks have been greatly depleted in recent years by greedy and uncaring anglers. If you do catch fish, I suggest you return them safely to the water to conserve stocks. Useful fly patterns are Golden Olive, Wicham's Fancy, Black Pennell, Butcher and Connemara Black. Bank fishing only and about 25 per cent of the shoreline is fishable. Permission....
